On 13th October at 10am (Saturday), “ art of Compassion ·Invitational Art Exhibition by International Renowned Artists ”, hosted by Sian Chay Medical Institution and co-organized by Zhen Ru Culture and Art Association, was successfully held at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. The event was graced by Ms. Cheryl Chan Wei Ling, Member of Parliament for Fengshan SMC as Guest of Honour, Mr. Que Xiaohua, Cultural Counselor of the PRC Embassy in Singapore as Special Guest, Mr. Toh Soon Huat, Chairman of Sian Chay Medical Institution, Ms. Zhang Hua from Zhen Ru Culture, Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. Zhao Zhenqiang, President of Singapore Art Society, Mr and Mrs 林得楠 from Writers’ Association. The artists who donated artworks included: 曾广纬老师，范少华老师，吴耀基老师，黄马家兰老师，何钰峰老师, 许梦丰老师，梁振康老师，刘轩齐老师，胡财和老师，谢江水老师，张有铄老师，赵振强老师，郑木彰老师，王 瑾老师，黄奕泉老师，杨昌泰老师，尤东暐老师 and friends from all walks of life. There were 60 pieces of artworks displayed in the exhibition by 33 famous international contemporary artists from Singapore, China, the United States and Malaysia. They were all renowned for their unique styles in the world’s painting and calligraphy circles.
Ms. Cheryl Chan Wei Ling said, “I have been impressed by Mr. Toh Soon Huat’s admirable devotion to the cause of benefiting the Singaporean people with a fearless, intelligent and compassionate heart. Over the years, he has chartered a new path in charity that the predecessors never try, regardless his personal gains or losses, so that every beneficiary of Sian Chay receives not only help in material but also respect in spirit. In particular, the five core values, ‘Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing ’ have been rooted in everyone’s heart.” She pledged to donate S$20,000 to Sian Chay Medical Institution.
Ms. Zhang Hua, Founder of Zhen Ru Culture said, “Gratitude to the kindness domain for the efforts and support, from the arts to charity, to contribute strength and love to the harmonious society. The kindness of the famous artists will surely touch the society and; the painting and calligraphy works with special charity meanings will remain immortal. All the benevolent people who collect the art pieces with generous sponsorships will also widely respected by the society.”
Mr. Zhao Zhenqiang, President of the Singapore Art Society, said: “I feel very grateful and honoured to co-organize this charity exhibition to raise funds for the Sian Chay Medical Institution. The medical team has done a great job. This exhibition combines both charity and art and; allows people from art circles to contribute to charity causes with our own effort. Thanks to Chairman Toh Soon Huat for his trust. Art brings the perception of beauty while medicine brings hope of life. In future, we will fully support Sian Chay’s charity activities and help those need people.”
Sian Chay has been a medical institution of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Under the leadership of Chairman Toh Soon Huat and guided by “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing”, Sian Chay staff are dedicated to helping people in need, bringing them hope of life, serving the society regardless of race, religion or nationality, caring for all people as family with compassion, love and humility.
All the funds raised by the exhibition will be donated to Sian Chay Medical Institution to defray the daily operation expenses.
