Congratulations to Patron of Sian Chay Medical Institution, Dr Halimah Yacob , for being elected as the 8th President of the Republic of Singapore
On 13th September noon, when delivering her victory speech on the stage of the PA headquarters nomination centre, she promised to unite all Singaporeans and to serve all Singaporeans without any hesitation. On the same day, Chairman Toh Soon Huat and two colleagues were also at the nominatio centre to support her.
In the interview, Chairman Toh Soon Huat said, “Halimah is very compassionate, with a loving heart. She made every effort in promoting racial and religious harmony. She also encourages the Malays to try Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments. 40% patients at Marsiling Branch are Malay and increasing number of Malay patients are showing up at other branches.” Mr. Toh Soon Huat believes that Dr. Halimah is able to unite Singapore and can play an important role in the international arena on behalf of Singapore。
Dr. Halimah is the first female speaker of the Singapore Parliament. She is now the 8th President of the Republic of Singapore as well as the first female President .
As President of Singapore and all Singaporeans, Dr. Halimah makes no exception, regardless of race, language, religion or belief. She actively promote Traditional Chinese Medicine and tuina therapy to serves the needy and the elderly for all sectors of society.
Commenting on Sian Chay Medical Institution and Chairman Toh Soon Huat, she once praised: “Mr. Toh is an outstanding man who is full of enthusiasm and vitality, with extraordinary energy and compassion. Marsiling Branch was set up within one year under his leadership. He is a passionate, devoted, and dedicated person. It is hard to find such kind of person nowadays.”
“I hope he will continue to contribute to Sian Chay and make the best job for this community,” she said, adding that “What he does is not only raising funds, but visiting branches personnally to monitor renovation in progress as well. Mr. Toh Soon Huat is definitely a conscientious, compassionate and dedicated leader.”
Chairman Toh said, “ Trust, Action, Attitude, and Conduct are the best virtues of charity. I saw more and more seniors visiting Sian Chay, getting relief from pain and making a healthy and blissful life. More and more entrepreneurs are willing to contribute their love to charity. More and more young people actively engaged in community welfare activities as volunteers. Gratitude to everyone here who make millions of senior beneficiaries feel the warmth and help them get relieved from pain and gain happiness. Thank you for helping them live a healthy and blissful life. Good deeds follow one’s heart and are random and dispensable. However, charity is a commitment, not changed anyway and must be dedicated. There is no choice. It’s only about more and more devotion, more and more gratitude. No matter how much is the donation, more or less, everyone’s every cent will be turned into a warmth sunshine to help everyone in need. We will also promote everyone’s good deeds. Our future will be with unlimited brightness! ”
