On November 25, 2020, volunteer Executive Chairman of Sian Chay Medical Institution Toh Soon Huat, JP was nominated for the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards 2020 Special Edition.
President Halimah conveyed the country’s gratitude to Sian Chay Medical Institution for its selfless dedication during the pandemic and hopes to continue to motivate everyone to build a Singapore that cares for her people.
Chairman Toh Soon Huat said: “Charity is a form of true love. It is sincere, compassionate, grateful, and bright. It is a connotation, a touching moment, a learning experience, and a self-cultivation. It enriches life with power and embodies the value of life. When others encounter difficulties, we must invoke our compassion, brightness, and responsibility-to contribute money and strength where we can to serve the country and the people, and to tide over the difficulties together.”
