Mdm. Tan Hwee Cheng , beloved mother of Mr Teo Ngiang Heng, Treasurer of Sian Chay, passed away on 16 Dec. 2016. In order to commemorate the noble character of the mother, and cherish the kindness of the poor people, Mr. Teo Ngiang Heng and his family decided to donate all the condolence donations to Sian Chay Medical Institution to help more elderly. At the same time to comfort the mother’s spirit in heaven.
The total amount of condolence donation was $52,080. All donations will be used to support about 5,208 elderly people for their free medical treatment at Sian Chay Medical Institution to relieve pain, to remove suffering and to foster a happy family. This kind gesture is an immeasurable charitable merit.
Currently, Sian Chay has 12 branches and 4 wellness centers nationwide providing free medical consultation, subsidized medication, tuina therapy for the public. By providing comprehensive services, Sian Chay aims at helping elderly people to get convenient and timely medical treatment, to help them live a healthy, happy and blissful in the golden age.
Mr. Toh Soon Huat, Chairman of Sian Chay, has been promoting the 5 core values of Sian Chay, which are Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing; and the commitment of Sian Chay, to provide support to the nation building and social harmony. From the society, for the society. Working together to care of the vulnerable and poor by contributing money or effort. Mr. Toh often mentions the concept “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers. Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours.”. “Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People”. Only then can the society be a better one. It is an important way to return to the society with taking active participation in the charity events organised by civic organisations, associations and community centers.
