Kindness on Hari Raya,  Racial Harmony in One Family

On 9th June, Sian Chay Medical Institution supported the Hari Raya celebration “Yuhua Salam Lebaran 2018” organised by Yuhua SMC with 250 food packs for distribution to the Malay residents in Yuhua. The event was launched by Ms. Grace Fu , Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, MP for the Yuhua SMC. Mr. Jackson Teo and Ms. Michelle Lu j, Directors of Sian Chay Medical Institution, attended the event and shared the joy of the festival with Malay residents.

Mr. Jackson Teo posted on his Facebook, “Tonight, I distributed the food packs to the Malay residents on behalf of Sian Chay with Minister Grace Fu and enjoyed Hari Raya Dinner with them at Yuhua Community Centre. This is also the first time that I have dined with my right hand and I learnt a lot about the history and etiquettes of Hari Raya. We also witnessed Minister Fu’s kindness and care for the residents and having dinner together with Malay residents! It was so much warmth and fun. Many thanks to Minister Fu for her contribution and help to the residents!”

For a long time, under the leadership of Chairman Toh Soon Huat, Sian Chay has adhered to the five core values “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing”, supporting the nation building and fostering a harmonious society. Sian Chay believes that “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours. Forwarding with the Nation and Bonding with the People.” Sian Chay actively supports charity causes and participate in charity activities organized by community organisations , civic groups and community centres to contribute to the society.

Chairman Toh Soon Huat often says: “A donation of $10 to Sian Chay can benefits a patient from a low-income family to enjoy free consultation and medicine in Sian Chay. The whole family’s moods will be affected if any of the family members gets ill. Please assist Sian Chay to help patient gets relief from suffering and gain happiness, relieve the pain of sickness, and fosters healthy, happy families and a harmonious society.

We call on everyone to contribute their own strength to the prosperity and progress of Singapore. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine charitable organization, Sian Chay people have an obligation and a responsibility to contribute to the development of the country. Only when all races are in harmony, will the people be happier.
