On 12 May 32018 at 10.30am, the Kowloon Club Youth Group visited Sian Chay Medical Institution and donated the funds raised from the “2018 Charity Bowling Competition of Kowloon Club Youth Group”, the first charity bowling competition since the establishment of Youth Group.
Established as a non-profit organization in 1990, Kowloon Club consists mainly of the new immigrants from Hong Kong, and it currently has more than 1,500 member families. Kowloon Club has been engaged in integrating member families into local communities and give back to society by organizing year-round charity, cultural entertainment and educational activities. It has set up interest groups such as charity group, cultural & entertainment group, sports group, IT group, Women’s group and Youth Group.
Mr. Chan Man Ping, President of the Kowloon Club, has always supported the activities of the Sian Chay Medical Institution. He donates every year to support charity causes. He said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Under his leadership, the young people of the Kowloon Club have also become more closely connected with Sian Chay. During the visit, they felt the power of kindness and realised their own responsibilities. One of them said that he was very moved during the visit and exchange. They hoped that more charity activities would be organized in the future to help those needy people.
For a long time, under the leadership of Chairman Toh Soon Huat, Sian Chay has been adhering to five core values of “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing”. Supporting the nation building and the fostering of social harmony. Sian Chay actively promotes its beliefs that “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours.” and “Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People.”
Sian Chay spares no effort to support the charity causes and participate in the charity events and activities in community organisations, civic groups and community centres to contribute back to the society.
Chairman Toh Soon Huat often said, “Every $10 donated to Sian Chay Medical Institution will benefit one patient from a low-income family to enjoy free consultation and medication in Sian Chay. It is not just helping 30,000 patients, but 30,000 families because the mood of the whole family will be affected when any of the family member falls sick. Please support the mission of Sian Chay Medical Institution to help others, to relieve the patients from pain and experience the happiness, to cure the diseases, and create healthy and blissful families as well as a harmonious society.”
Kindness is a responsibility, a faith. When we give goodwill, we will receive the peace at heart and the freedom of the soul.
