On 9th December at 7.30pm , Love D’ Chairty Fund-Raising Dinner 2017 organized by Sian Chay Medical Institution was held at SAFRA Toa Payoh Club, attended by Ms. Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Trade and Industry, Mr. Toh Soon Huat, Chairman, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Dr Yap Seng Teck, Advisor to Organizing Committee, Mrs. Priscilla Koh, Chairman , Organizing Committee, Mr. Gary Wee, Mr. Dickson Kim, Mr. Andrew Yeo Guo Shun, Mrs. Zhong Li Yi and Directors of Sian Chay, as well as 640 guests.
Minister Sim Ann said, “As the ageing population of Singapore increases, the demand for affordable medical services will continue to grow. Sian Chay accelerates its development by opening branches in neighbourhood estates . It aims to serve more elderly people who need treatment and to serve the general public. Within the next five years, the number of patient visits will increase from over 1,200 patients daily today to over 1,500 per day. In addition, Sian Chay has set up a Pioneer Generation Medical Fund to sponsor the medical costs for the Pioneer Generation who have dedicated their contribution and devotion to our nation. So far, the Fund has provided financial support for the treatment of 300,000 Pioneer Generation citizens. We would like to express our special thanks to the Lee Foundation for its generous donation of $ 3 million in the past three years. Because of this blessing of love, more people enjoyed happiness!
Dr Yap Seng Teck said, “Tonight, we talk about the story of love and kindness, not for the purpose to flaunt Sian Chay. Sian Chay has already proven itself during the century-long history! We just hope that the radiance of love will impact more people who need help so that they can be relieved from the pain and enjoy a blissful life with all of us.”
Mrs. Priscilla Koh said, “Fundraising is only the beginning of goodwill. What is more important for Sian Chay is to influence others with ” trust, action, attitude, conduct ” We as entrepreneurs should bear more social responsibility. The community is the soil for business growth, thus entrepreneurs must know how to give back to the community and help the poor. We hope that more people will come forward and support Sian Chay and work together to make charity cause bigger so as to create a harmonious society of “mutual friendship, assistance and support.”
Mr. Toh Soon Huat said, “Every $ 10 donation can help a patient from a low-income family visit a Sian Chay for free consultation and medicine. It is hoped to help more people to be relieved from their illness as one person’s problem will affect the whole family.”
Sian Chay launched the Moulmein-Cairnhill branch which is the 15th clinic in November this year. In the past three and a half years, Sian Chay has served a total of 753,686 patient visits and dispensed 1,673,155 dosages of prescriptions. Sian Chay forecasted to serve 2.5 million patient visits in the next five years. Total donation raised at tonight’s event was $ 663,322 , which will benefit more Singaporeans in the future.
Sian Chay has been actively promoting the core value of “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing” and supporting nation building and fostering social harmony . Sian Chay promotes its beliefs that “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours”, and that “Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People”. At the meantime, Sian Chay strongly supports charity causes by actively participating in activities organized by community organisations, civic groups and community centres to give back to the society. We hope more people could step forward and join us to build our beautiful Singapore.

Musicians and entertainers performing pro bono at the charity gala included local new star Abigail Yeo, Chinese Zheng Group, Golden Melody King Jay Lim, Linda Dancing Troupe, young violinist Wang Li Na, Malaysia singer Wilson Tin. They performed with love, they spread universal love and compassion using voice of love, bringing sunshine of love to Sian Chay and Singapore.
A $10 donation can help one patient from low-income family to get free consultation and medication in Sian Chay. Helping one patient means helping the whole family to get relief from suffering and foster a blissful and harmonious family.
Mr. Toh Soon Huat, Chairman of Sian Chay, actively promotes 5 core values of Sian Chay, which are forgiveness, universal love, compassion, gratitude and blessing.
