Marsiling’s Celebration of the National Day 2017
On August 9th, “Marsiling National Day Observance 2017” was held at the hardcourt square next to Marsiling Community Club. Sian Chay staff and thousands of HDB residents from Marsiling attended the event. The following VIP Guests including, Dr. Halimah, Patron of Sian Chay, Mr. Lawrence Wong, Minister of National Development & Second Minister for Finance and MP for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, and Mr. Mr Zaqy Bin Mohamad, MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC and grassroot leaders of Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, also attended the event.
At the event, Sian Chay Medical Institution offered residents free TCM consultation and tuina therapy; and distributed Sian Chay brochures on Sian Chay Marsiling Branch, Blk 1 Marsiling Drive #01-59, Singapore 730001, attracting more residents to visit and enjoy the services of Sian Chay.
The Marsiling Branch staff, including 3 physicians, 3 therapists and 3 assistants, with the help of volunteers, provided free consultation and therapy services for residents. On the day of celebration, Sian Chay also sponsored 500 gift packs, each worthy $ 10 for the residents for sharing and celebrating the National Day Observance.
To commemorate Singapore’s 52nd National Day, the organizers also created a Singapore Book of Record by producing a 52-meter-long historical painting, recording the history of Singapore’s founding. Five volunteers of Sian Chay participated in this activity.
For the consultation, the volunteers orderly registered residents for therapy and distributed the queue numbers. Although the queue was long, the residents waited patiently. Over a hundred residents registered for the free Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation and tuina services. The event ended at around 11 am.
Through this activity, Sian Chay not only alleviated the physical pain of residents through the Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation, tuina therapy services, delivering Sian Chay’s care and concern for the residents, but also at the same time, promoted its five cultural values “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing ” through their own actions. Sian Chay is also practicing the social responsibility, “From the society, for the society”, promoted by Chairman Toh Soon Huat, through participation in charitable activities. To care the vulnerable groups, with money or efforts. Everyone working together wholeheartedly for charity within one’s means. “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours.” Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People. This is not only the commitment of Sian Chay, but also inherent responsibility and obligation of each Singaporean. Let’s move forward and work together for a better future of Singapore.
