Saturday, 24th March 2018
On 24th March, the Tuas Pek Kong Keng Management Council held the “Respect for the Seniors Gala Dinner” at the parking lot next to Tuas Pek Kong Keng. During the event, “Annual Charity Donation 2018” was presented to voluntary welfare organizations, including Sian Chay Medical Institution which received $5,000. This is the fifth year that Tuas Pek Kong Keng donated to Sian Chay and Sian Chay also received $5,000 each year in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017 respectively. Todate, Sian Chay has received a total of $25,000 donations from Tuas Pek Kong Keng.
Tuas Pek Kong Keng was founded by eight pioneers in 1944. At first it was just a simple attap house located in Tuas, at 18th milestone Jurong. In 1954, it was reconstructed into a concrete temple. In 1974, the government acquired Tuas for the development into an industrial zone. Tuas Pek Kong Keng and the residents of Tuas were all affected. Because many residents moved to Boon Lay, Tuas Pek Kong Keng decided to buy a land in Boon Lay to build a new temple. The new temple was completed and inaugurated in 1987.
Tuas Pek Kong Keng and Sian Chay Medical Institution shared a similar history and experience. They also shared a common understanding and sentiment. Today, Tuas Pek Kong Keng and Sian Chay also inherited the belief and strength of benevolence, and they will surely bring radiance to all the people.
Chairman Toh Soon Huat has always adhered to the five core values “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing”, supporting the building of state and the creation of harmonious society. Sian Chay actively promote its beliefs that “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours”, and that “Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People”. Sian Chay is willing to collaborate with organizations with love, such as Tuas Pek Kong Keng, to convey the belief and concept of love and kindness and bring more care to the people of Singapore.
We are grateful to the goodwill and good deeds of Tuas Pek Kong Keng Management Council and all benevolent people involved.
