SIAN CHAY E-HONGBAO CHARITY DRIVE ( JAN to MAR 2018)ORGANISED BY JCI MANDARIN (SINGAPORE)
In conjunction with the 2018 Installation dinner officiated by Dr Teo Ho Pin ,Mayor of North West District, JCI Mandarin ( Singapore ) ,launched the Sian Chay eHongbao Charity Drive on 13th January 2018 at Fu Lin Men@Hotel Re!, 175A Chin Swee Road, Singapore 169879.
The launching ceremony was attended by Chairman, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Mr Toh Soon Huat BBM, PVPA and Executive Director Dr Benjie Ng and witnessed by Patron , JCI Mandarin ( Singapore ) , JCI Senator Dato’ Seri Dr Derek Goh, BBM, who is also the Honourable Chairman ,Sian Chay Medical Institution.
JCI Mandarin ( Singapore ) targets to raise $100,000 for Sian Chay via the NETS QR code over a two month period from January to March 2018. $100,000 is able to support 10,000 patient visits ( covering free consultation, medication, and treatment) Sian Chay.
At the launching ceremony, a total of $38,000 was raised for the eHongBao Charity Drive in celebration of JCI Mandarin ( Singapore )’s 38th Anniversary in 2018.
The donors were as follow:
1) Mr Toh Soon Huat BBM, PVPA : $10,000
2) JCI Senator Dr Benjie Ng : $4,000
3) JC Max Goh : $3,000
4) JCI Senator Jessica Tay : $2,000
5) JC Eugene Tan : $1,000
6) JC Michael Koh: $1,000
7) 26 other donors : $17,000
Last year at the Installation Banquet, JCI Mandarin (Singapore ) also launched another charity project,Sian Chay Draw 2017 , in aid of Sian Chay Medical Institution. At the launch on 29th March 2017 , $40,000 was raised from the JCI Senators and guests. The 4 month Charity Draw project raised over$270,000 through the sales of Charity Draw tickets@$3 to support Sian Chay Medical Institution.
The proceeds were used to adopt the Yio Chu Kang Branch, Blk 214, Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-1536, Singapore 560214, for one year in 2018. The renovation and set up costs ($200,000) of Yio Chu Kang Branch was sponsored by the Patron of JCI Mandarin (Singapore ), Dato’ Seri Dr. Derek Goh BBM.
The Charity Draw project organised by JCI Mandarin ( Singapore ) also won 5 JCI Singapore awards at the JCI Singapore’s 45th National Convention last year.
In 2015, to commemorate the SG 50 and 35th Anniversary , JCI Mandarin ( Singapore) organised the Inaugural Healing Arts Charity Concert in aid of Sian Chay Medical Institution. The Charity Concert raised $221,000 through donations, sponsorships and charity auction. The funds raised were used to fund the renovation costs of the Jalan Kayu Branch , 219 Jalan Kayu , Pei Hwa Foundation Building, #01-01, Singapore 799442, which was officially declared open by the Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
