Good Evening.
Our Guest-of-Honour Mr Henry Kwek, Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC.
Dr Toh Soon Huat, JP, BBM, PVPA, Chairman of Sian Chay Medical Institution.
My Organising Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Raymond Chua, who is also Treasurer of Sian Chay Medical Institution.
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.
Welcome to the Sian Chay Love and Care Charity Dinner.
First and foremost, I would like to thank our Sian Chay Chairman Dr. Toh Soon Huat for his confidence in me, and giving me the opportunity to be the Organizing Chairman for the Sian Chay Love and Care Charity Dinner tonite. On behalf of my fellow Directors,
I wish to take this occasion to congratulate our Chairman on his recent appointment as the Justice of Peace (JP) by our President of the Republic of Singapore Mdm Halimah Yacob. Please join me to give our Chairman a round of applause.
I am greatly honoured to chair this project with my fellow Directors; namely Mr Raymond Chua, Treasurer, Dato’ Seri Jackson Teo PBM, Secretary and Dr Yap Seng Teck, Asst Secretary. With your strong support and encouragement we to achieve our target set for the charity dinner tonight, which has a new feature, which is the reverse auction.
I hope everyone can give their support to this fundraising initiative to raise funds for the
distribution of Rice Dumplings and Moon Cakes to our beneficiaries for the Dragon Festival this month and Mid Autumn Festival in September this year. I will leave the mechanics of Reserve Auction to our MC Craig Teo to elaborate further.
I therefore to take this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to our sponsors, donors, supporters and volunteers for the success of this fundraising project!
Fund-raising is critical for us, and is also the foundation for us to do good. After years of determined effort, we are glad that many benevolent individuals, entrepreneurs & community leaders have come forward after being touched by Dr Toh Soon Huat’s devotion towards charity. Some are serving as volunteers and support us with their actions, while others have donated generously to Sian Chay. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation towards these individuals, for their selfless dedication and significant contributions over the past many years.
Under the leadership of our Chairman Dr. Toh Soon Huat, Sian Chay ushers in a new charity era to benefit everyone who needs help, share the message of love with every Singaporean, and creating a harmonious society where everyone caring for one another, and helping the needy and the sick amongst us.
Finally, let me once again thank our Guest of Honour, Mr Henry Kwek, MP for Nee Soon GRC and our Grassroots Adviser to Nee Soon GRC and Hon Adviser of Singapore Fen Yan Guo Association for gracing this charity event and supporting Sian Chay.
Thanks very much for all your generous donations and earnest support! My appreciation also goes to the Sian Chay Directors, Honourable Chairmen, Honorary Chairmen and Honorary Directors for your unfailing support, the Organizing Committee members for your concerted efforts behind the scene. Thank you for making tonight’s charity dinner a resounding success!
