Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance Council (2017/2018) Inauguration ceremony cum “2016/2017 Singapore Brands” Book Launch Conference  and  Awards  Dinner.

Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance Council (2017/2018) Inauguration ceremony cum “2016/2017 Singapore Brands  Book Launch Conference and Awards Dinner was held on 1st April ( Saturday) at 7.30pm at Hotel Re. Guests attending the event include the Guest of Honour Mr. Yeo Guat Kwang, Assistant Director-General of NTUC, Mr. Edmund Toh, Chairman of Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance, Ms. Fang Qing, Vice President, and other committee members, and more than 120 guests.

Mr. Toh said in his speech: “Today is a big day for the Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance. We have three memorable events. Firstly, the inauguration of the new committee of Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance. Secondly, a milestone for the charity collaboration between Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance and Sian Chay Medical Institution. We will donate $25,100 to Sian Chay. And we will launch charity fund raising activities within our entrepreneurial members in the business community. Third, today is a new round of Singapore Brand new book release and awards dinner.”

At the inauguration ceremony, all members of the Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance committee sworn and signed a letter of appointment. Former President Tay Huat Heng BBM is succeeded by Edmund Toh as the new President, while Mr. Tay Huat Heng be conferred the Honorary President.

A charity donation presentation was included to the ceremony when Dr Toh Soon Huat BBM PVPA  Chairman of Sian Chay shared with the guests the 116 years old history of Sian Chay as well as developments in recent years. He said, “Besides the core values such as Forgiveness, Compassion, Universal Love, Gratitude and Blessing, it was the support from everyone in this responsible group that helped Sian Chay to achieve its current status. Today, Sian Chay is undergoing rapid developments, and has shortcomings; but we will put in more hard work to overcome these imperfections, and improve it to help more people.” Subsequently, he also shared his own experience of years of entrepreneurial journey with all guests.

Mr. Edmund Toh, as representative of Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance, handed the check of $25,100 over to Chairman Toh Soon Huat BBM PVPA. 100 Entrepreneur members from Alliance will participate in the fund-raising activities. Donation boxes will be put in front of their shops and Sian Chay will collect periodically. We hope more entrepreneurs will join this activity to encourage a habit of doing good and to know about Sian Chay.

Subsequently, the “2016/2017 Singapore Brand” new book launch ceremony was held. Mr. Yeo Guat Kwang, Assistant Secretary-General of NTUC, Mr. Edmund Toh, Chairman of Singapore Brand Entrepreneurs Alliance, Mr. Toh Soon Huat, Chairman of Sian Chay Medical Institution, Mr. Fang Qing, Chief Editor of “Singapore Brand” attended the event. The editors of “2016/2017 Singapore Brands” hope that through this book, the young entrepreneurs could learn about entrepreneurship from the experience of the veterans and be guided with correct directions. Entrepreneurs may only be successful when they capture the business opportunities with courage, hardwork, honesty and trustworthiness. In 2017 as the global economy goes into a slowdown, many entrepreneurs are also deeply worried. But as long as we work together, the recovery will come soon.

At the end of the event, Mr. Yeo Guat Kwang and Mr. Edmund Toh presented 20 special prizes to the award-winning business representatives for their efforts to develop the business of Singapore.
