In recognition of individuals who have been contributing to the long-term welfare of the nation, National Council of Social Service awards and honors Singapore’s dedicated community of philanthropic enthusiasts. Many of our supporters and board members also received this award.

Sian Chay has been promoting the core values of “Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Blessing” and the philosophy of “Nation Progresses, Family Prospers; Family Harmony, Successful Endeavours. Forward with the Nation, Bonding with the People” The society can be a better one.” We believe the best start of charity is respect. Therefore, Sian Chay Medical Institution has also attracted many caring people to join and support Sian Chay, bringing more sunshine and guiding those who seek for warmth in the darkness.
Mr. Teo Kim Chuan, Long Service Award 25 Years recipient, Honorable Chairmen and former director of Sian Chay is one of them, who is also known as the introducer of Mr. Toh Soon Huat. He introduced Mr. Toh and brought in a leader for the rejuvenation of the century old Sian Chay.
At present, Sian Chay manages 15 branches, serving more than 1200 patients daily and the annual operation cost is estimated $6 million . During 2014 to 2017, Sian Chay served 980,000 patient visits with 1.81 million dosages of prescriptions . In the next 5 years (2018-2022), the estimated number of patient visit will reach 2.5 million with 4.8 million dosages of prescriptions.
Sian Chay will on one hand continue to improve the medical service efficiency, on the other hand hope that caring people from all circles can contribute your kindness for our brothers and sisters, uncles and aunties, grandparents, nephews and nieces. For this purpose, we have launched the ehongbao charity donation scheme. Every donation of $10 will benefit a patient from a low-income family to visit Sian Chay clinics and get the prescription for free.

“Do to others what you would want them to do to you. Treating others with kindness is like sowing seeds for rich harvest. What you give out will eventually return to yourself. Virtuous deeds of a single person will benefit one place, while those from many people will benefit the world. May the good will be always accompanied.
